Shop4Room is seeking to hire a seasoned Business Development Rep to identify potential customers for opportunities to increase sales. S/he will help to identify opportunities to increase sales in current customer base and find new customer prospects across the Distributed Products organization. The Business Development Rep will report to the Sales Support Manager, and work closely with Branch personnel and Account Executives to pass off prospects in the eastern Connecticut area.


The Business Development Rep’s responsibilities will include:

Develop new business via telephone and email to introduce Harvey and identify appropriate buyers within the market

Follow up on leads generated from the Inside Sales and Account Executive teams and conduct research to qualify potential prospects

Conduct a needs analysis by phone and determine prospects pain points to determine how the HBP will meet those needs

Maintain up to date contact information on the builder and remodeler market

Build and cultivate prospect relationships by initiating communications and conducting follow-up communications in order to move opportunities through the sales funnel

Identify key buying influencers within these prospects to determine budget and timeline

Hand off qualified prospect leads to Account Executives or Inside Sales branches based on prospect size and potential growth

Identify opportunities for increasing share of wallet and driving additional sales in current customer base

Work with the Sales Support Manager to develop and grow the sales pipeline to consistently meet quarterly revenue goals

Other related duties as assigned

The successful candidate must have the following experience and capabilities:

A broad understanding of the building products business

Bachelor’s degree preferred

2-4 years proven experience in a sales/customer service role

Prospecting experience preferred
