Lalique Cynara Purple Vase

Inspired by the Armorique vase designed by René Lalique in 1927, the Cynara vase takes us to the lands of the Languedoc.

Between sea and mountains, this sun-drenched region in the South of France offers many landscapes: wide open spaces, shrublands, ancient massifs and beautiful gorges, raw beauty whose authenticity has inspired many artists, including René Lalique.

The word Cynara refers to a species of thistle-like plants native to the Mediterranean region. Fashioned in satin-finished and re-polished crystal, emblematic of Lalique, the leaves overlay in a graphic play on repetition. The purity, intensity and depth of clear, green, purple or grey crystal compliment the luxurious design of the vase.
